In memoriam

Trebuchet is thoroughly a community. In my educational career, I always stressed honoring and remembering its members. Whenever appropriate, Trebuchet will continue to do so.

I lost a beloved student, Bory Damyanova in 2005, and with her peers created a special Institute program on Corporate Social Responsibility in her honor. My current Trebuchet efforts with the InternetBar.Org Institute (IBO) initiatives are dedicated to her memory.

I also lost another beloved EPIIC student, David Rawson in 2007. We memorialized him, naming the keynote of the Institute’s China security symposium after him. Professor Rosenau’s presentation at EPIIC obviously greatly influenced David’s thinking.

David sought a career in Naval Intelligence that he sadly could not fulfill. I am dedicating my current efforts to support another Institute alumnus, a Convisero mentor and wonderful young friend, Patrick Schmidt, in his memory.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have the support of scores of tremendous friends and allies whose memory will be remembered in the pages of this narrative. Here are the first three, the distinguished Les Gelb, wonderful Ambassador Jonathan Moore, and remarkable Michael Hawley.
