Alex Levesque

Alex Levesque is a cyber operations executive, engineer, and researcher whose work focuses on the intersection of emerging technologies, national security, and cyber capability. He currently leads technical strategy, research, and capability development in support of the national security community at Talon Defense, a company he co-founded in 2025. He holds a master’s degree in Cybersecurity from Johns Hopkins University.

Over more than eighteen years in cyber operations and engineering, Alex has served in technical, operational, and executive leadership roles across government and industry. His career began in the United States Air Force as a signals analyst supporting military operations, including a deployment to Afghanistan. Since then, his work has ranged from vulnerability research and reverse engineering to the design and leadership of large-scale technical organizations responsible for research, engineering, software development, and operational capability. He has spoken at conferences and on expert panels exploring the convergence of cyber operations, RF systems, and AI, and the implications of those technologies for national security and strategy. His current work examines how emerging computational capabilities alter the practical realities of deterrence, coercion, and competition—and what it means to employ cyber as an instrument of statecraft.

Alex is a long-course triathlete who views both research and endurance sport as long-term disciplines built on curiosity, deliberate practice, and continuous improvement.
